Our front porch doesn’t receive that much light so it looks really dark. I decided recently that I wanted to paint the front door a bright color. I thought I was going to paint it yellow, but I decided on a gorgeous blue called, “Dip in the pool”— it is a very happy light turquoise color.

I was nervous to paint the door. I really didn’t want to screw it up, but you know, its just paint. My neighbor gave me a few pointers and I read the blog post from Young House Love on how to paint doors. It turned out pretty great and I am glad I just did it.

Pedar and I also painted the Adirondack chairs white and added some fun new pillows. I painted the four-leaf clover black to match the door hardware.

Our porch now has a bit more personality. It is cheerful and inviting, just as I hope we can be to our neighbors, family and friends.
