No room in my heart for hatred

My Mom has always said that I should pray for the people I don't like. I should pray that they are so filled with love and joy that whatever unkind behavior they have been sharing with the world, will change. You know that saying, it goes something like, "If you fall to your knees because of grief, you might as well stay there and pray?" I am on my knees Lord. I am praying that the people of the world will applaud kindness and stop cheering for hatred. I am praying that people will speak up when something is said that doesn't move us forward.  I am praying that our hearts and minds will understand that there is no room in a loving heart for sexism, elitism, racism and homophobia. I am praying that we will wake up and see that we belong to each other.
