The first step is admitting you have a problem

I need to break up with Amazon Prime. I have a problem and I am admitting it. My issue started out small, but then it snowballed into every damn purchase. I made a lot of justifications; it saves me time and time is money.  I live less than five miles from the pet store, but I was buying Curly's greenies and dog food regularly on Amazon. I knew I had a problem when Casey wanted a specific toy and I just ordered it within minutes. It IS JUST TOO EASY! It supports impulse buying and I need to stop. Yes, Amazon has great deals. That isn't the issue. The issue is that I am not responsible enough to say NO! The shopping is too damn fun! Pedar and I sat down the other night and went over our budget. Gulp. We found we are spending WAY TOO much money on food and yes, Amazon.  January is always a painful month after Christmas and boys b-days. We always have a bit of a shopping hangover. I want to get to a place where December doesn't hurt us because we are prepared. What is that like????

So, here I go. I am going to SLOW DOWN and maybe wait 48-72 hours before making a purchase. Because do I REALLY need it? Do we have to have it? Most likely, No.

Here's to healthier finances!
