Fantastic flowerbed
This little flowerbed area has finally become something really lovely. This space used to have a rotting deck until we removed it in 2015. We slowly started creating a flowerbed. I planted fringe flower in the back, and spaced out society garlic and a few aparagus ferns. I was given violets and they have taken over beautifully. I originally planted a camelia bush, but Dottie ate the flowers and they are poisonous. One day we found her after being outside and she couldn’t walk or barely open her eyes. Thankfully I knew what she had been eating and with medicine she was OK. I pulled that plant out super fast and replaced it with a japanese maple. Pedar added river rock in front of the flowerbed last year and I love it.
We hope to landscape this part of our yard in the next few months. We want the space to be clean with a lot of hardscape, but also have small flowerbeds around the edges. I can’t wait to clean it up and plant!
