Mission Avenue's Monterey Trip was awesome!

The fifth grade Monterey trip was fantastic.  Sleeping in the hotel room with three eleven-year-old boys and another Mom that I didn't know, turned out to be fine! The whale watching boat ride was fun, although a third of our class got sick. Thankfully, everyone rallied once they were off the boat. After lunch at Lovers Point park, we visited the Pacific Grove Museum and the Monarch Grove sanctuary. The next morning we got up early and left Monterey for the Chabot Space and Science Center. We left around 2 p.m. from the space center to go home and it took about three hours to get home. Ugh. Traffic and weather was bad. Oh well, we finally made it home by 6 p.m. We were all so happy to get out of the car! The kids learned a lot and had a great time. The food at the Asilomar was wonderful and hey, how can we complain, we slept in beds and not in tents and sleeping bags!! We didn't cook and I didn't have to turn a flash light on in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. I am so grateful to the teachers for planning two nights and three wonderful days for these fantastic kids. I loved making memories with Casey! I loved watching him with his friends. I am very grateful that we got home safely and had a fun time.
